Red Rock Park was beautiful! I had fun riding around inside their rodeo arena!

The red rocks and storm clouds were spectacular!

I had a wonderful time visiting Red Rock Park! It has beautiful red rocks and reminds me of both Kanab, Utah and Sedona, Arizona. Mountain bikes were welcome on the trails, so I rode all over the area. There were steps on the two trails I tried, so I rode on the main area around the campground.

Apparently, this park used to be owned by the State of New Mexico, but is now owned by the city of Gallup. For $20, I had a 50 amp site with water in a gorgeous area! The only negative aspect was all the sites were sandy. I tried to minimize tracking sand into the motorhome.

It was funny, but the tiny Post Office for Church Rock was right next to the campground.

This was a cute Post Office!

I loved the beauty of the area!

Ice Cream Social!

I LOVE ice cream!

Today was a special treat! Literally. After a day on the road, it was nice to check into a nice RV park and learn that they just started an ice cream social. I love ice cream. I really love ice cream. They had chocolate and vanilla. I saw the strawberries and chocolate syrup and other toppings. I decided to order vanilla ice cream smothered in strawberries. I cannot think of anything I would have rather eaten after dinner. It was absolutely wonderful!

The RV park had a local artist that made all these fun bears that were for sale. I liked their expressions!

On the Road Again!

I am happy to report that we headed out from Amarillo early this morning and we are planning to have a fun time in Northern Arizona. We drove for 433 miles today! We got an early start and made a couple of stops along the way to get a chance to move around. We are staying in Gallup, New Mexico and thoroughly enjoying the beautiful evening.

It is always fun to see places along famous Route 66!

After getting the motorhome setup, we discovered they had a nice pool and it was the perfect temperature! It is so nice to go swimming after a long day on the road.

Their pool was nice because there is a flag pained along the bottom! This is absolutely perfect for the 4th of July weekend!

We stayed at this RV park many years ago with our first 5^th wheel trailer. We lost a trailer tire thread and had people working on it when we stayed here. That was not the greatest memory. Today is much more fun!

I was feeling very good today, so this seemed perfect. A classic phrase not heard for a long time. It also reminded me of my old VW bug!

After a long day of driving, it is nice to sip on something very nice!
